Lady Bulldogs face tough stretch of games
By PATRICK FORD NEWS EDITOR,

The Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs softball team recently encountered a tough series of games, showing resilience and determination despite facing formidable opponents.

In their matchup against Kiefer JV, the Lady Bulldogs started strong, tying the game 4-4 in the bottom of the third inning, thanks to key plays by Tiah Harjo and Makiya Hill. However, Kiefer JV took control in the fourth inning, scoring eight runs to secure a 12-4 victory. Despite the loss, Harjo led Okmulgee with two RBIs, and the team put up a solid fight until the end.

The Lady Bulldogs then faced Muldrow, where they struggled to keep up with the powerful offense of their opponents. Muldrow scored early and often, leading to a 13-0 defeat for Okmulgee. Tiah Harjo and Kai Currin each managed to get a hit, but the Lady Bulldogs were unable to break through Muldrow’s strong defense.

In a more closely contested game against the Mounds Eagles, the Lady Bulldogs nearly pulled off a comeback. After falling behind 8-3 in the fifth inning, Okmulgee rallied to score four runs, closing the gap to 8-7. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t complete the comeback, falling just short in a hardfought game. Brylee Edlin and Tiah Harjo were standouts at the plate, each recording three hits.

Finally, the Lady Bulldogs faced the Checotah Lady Cats, who came out swinging with a four-run burst in the first inning. Okmulgee struggled to recover, ultimately losing 6-0. Kiera Swayze and Kai Currin each recorded a hit for the Lady Bulldogs, but Checotah’s strong pitching and aggressive base running were too much to overcome.

Despite these challenging results, the Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs continue to show grit and determination on the field. With key players like Tiah Harjo and Brylee Edlin leading the way, the team remains focused on improving and bouncing back in their upcoming games.
