D. Janet VanMeter

November 16, 1931 – July 31, 2024

D. Janet VanMeter, a lifetime resident of Henryetta, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in Muskogee at the age of 92. She was born November 14, 1931, in Henryetta to Joseph Rudolph (Rudy) Harkins and Ella Belle (Thompson) Harkins. She married Gene VanMeter December 22, 1950, at First United Methodist Church in Henryetta. She retired from Southwestern Bell after 24 years.

Viewing for Janet will be held from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Integrity Funeral Service. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024, at First United Methodist Church in Henryetta, with Rev. David Shahan officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
