A choice is necessary. The choice is extremely costly. But the one we are choosing for is always with us and is greater than we can imagine. That, in a nutshell, is what I take away from the Gospel we just heard as well as the Gospel that immediately precedes it. A passage that I’ve printed in the bulletin this weekend and must be kept in mind if we are going to understand what God the Father is referring to when he says, “This is my Son.
