Okmulgee Fireworks Extravaganza is July 4

Henryetta show planned July 8

The City of Okmulgee Fireworks Extravaganza will be held next Tuesday, July 4, at the Okmulgee Municipal Park, according to Kenneth Anderson, Emergency Management Director and Licensed Pyro Technician. He and his group of assistants have been busy preparing for the exciting event. “We look forward to a real show-stopper display,” Anderson said. “We will be shooting over 1,000 shells and choreographed to six songs. Hopefully everyone will bring their families out to experience the fireworks and enjoy the park.”

Anderson reminds everyone there is no shooting of personal fireworks in the park.

Lots of fun, family activities will be going on during the evening.

There will be food vendors in the park beginning at 7 p.m. Vendors will include:

• Hot Dogs and Kettle Corn from the Knights of Columbus

• Raven Rock Pizza

• Taco Sonora

• Big Mama’s BBQ

• Antonio’s Fried Fish

• Jack’s Ice Cream

• Frost Bites & Java Delights Also beginning at 7 p.m. will be live music featuring Brent Giddens and his band.

“So come out early to eat and enjoy the music and celebrate with your family before the fireworks show begins at 10 p.m.,” Anderson said.

There also will be two water slides provided by the Fraternal Order of Police #96 to entertain and cool off the kids.

Though the fireworks display can be seen all over the city, there is nothing compared to watching and hearing the wonderful show at the park.

If you are unable to attend in person, the show will be streamed live by Neal’s Homestore online at FB.com/Nealshomestore. It will also be broadcasted Live on 88.3 for the surrounding area around the Okmulgee Municipal Park.

This is one of the biggest shows in the area, thanks to Okmulgee City Council, and the generosity of the sponsors of the show which include, CP Kelco, Neals Homestore, Fraternal Order of Police #96 and Domino’s Pizza.

“Join with your family and friends, be safe and healthy, enjoy the show and wish America a Happy 247th Birthday,” Anderson said.
