The Okmulgee High School track team opened the indoor season at the Enid/Chisholm track meet Saturday. The girls’ track team placed within the Top 5, placing 5th overall in the Class 3A division. The Lady Bulldogs had a variety of long and short runners as well as those that represented their team in the field events. Okmulgee senior Faith Montgomery led her team with a 2nd place finish in the girls 400 meter dash. She crossed the finish line just one-second ahead of Haley Combs, of Hinton High School, with a time of 1 minute and 7.71 seconds. Jones High School’s Jaylie Farmer claimed 1st place with a time of 1:05.19. Montgomery also took home a bronze medal in the girls’ high jump event with 4 feet, 2 inches.
