A five-game winning streak tragically ended for the Morris Lady Eagles on Friday when they went up against the Sequoyah-Tahlequah Lady Indians. Hosting the No. 1 Lady Indians at the Mvksoke Dome in Okmulgee, the Lady Eagles couldn’t find the defensive strength to hold back the Lady Indians’ 2-point game, which resulted in a 73- 35 loss. Single digit scores in the first quarter immediately put the Lady Eagles behind the Lady Indians, 9-2. The Lady Eagles failed to rally their offense the rest of the game with senior Charie Barnett upholding most of the scoring, but even her campaign under the basket was enough to overpower Sequoyah-Tahlequah’s strength. Barnett scored a total of 15 points against the Lady Indians, including six 2’s and three free throws. Jazmyn Powell was the second highest scoring Lady Eagle with eight points.
